PRS are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled and proactive Senior Facilities Site Officer (Caretaker/Handyman) to join the facilities team in Peterborough. This is a permanent, full-time position offering an excellent salary of £32k – £35k per year.
You will be a key focal point for facilities management on-site, ensuring requests are resolved efficiently and that the school environment is kept to the highest standards.
Shift & Work Pattern

  • Monday to Friday: 6:30am – 3:30pm (40 hours per week, subject to skeleton team rota)

You’ll be working as part of a team of 3 Engineers, supporting smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs)
  • Conduct water flushing, emergency lighting checks, and fire extinguisher checks
  • Actively support delivery of both hard and soft facilities services
  • Assist with event organisation and set-ups
  • Maintain site standards, including car park cleaning and waste management
  • Provide holiday/absence cover for colleagues when required

Requirements

  • IOSH Certificate (NEBOSH desirable)
  • Enhanced DBS check (essential for working in schools)
  • Previous facilities, handyman, or caretaker experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Team player with ability to work independently
