Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Engineer to oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and compliance of building systems within a client-occupied site. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks, managing reactive works, being the liaison for the Client, and ensuring that all building services operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with client expectations and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planned Preventive Maintenance.
• Conduct routine daily walkarounds to check Floors and fabric (walls, doors, finishes) for damage.
• BMS, fire alarm, leak detection, and other control panels for faults or alerts, Plant rooms, lighting, and general building condition.
• Inspect and maintain kitchen grease traps and shower traps weekly.
• Liaise with the Mala Helpdesk to coordinate and schedule PPM activities.
• Carry out painting and fabric repairs, including painting office walls during quieter office periods (usually every Friday).
• Record findings, escalate issues promptly, and ensure all remedial works are tracked and completed.

Reactive Maintenance & Site Operations:

• Prioritise and manage daily reactive tasks via the client’s facilities management system.
• Ensure follow-up actions are completed in a timely and professional manner.
• Act as the main site contact for all Mala-related issues.
• Attend site out of hours (weekday evenings or weekends) to supervise works or support special events when required.
• Conduct weekly catch-up meetings with the client to review ongoing or new maintenance issues, updates, and site priorities.
• Contractor Supervision & Permit to Work Control.
• Supervise specialist subcontractors to ensure work is carried out safely, to a high standard, and within agreed timeframes.
