PRS is currently recruiting for a Technical Cleaning Operative (Evening Shift) to work for one of our client in Central London near Charing Cross. 

  • Do you have experience using a rotary floor machine for scrubbing or polishing floors?
  • Do you have experience using a burnisher for buffing and polishing marble floors?
  • Do you have experience using portable tools for carpet cleaning?
  • Do you have experience performing spot cleaning of carpet stains with hand-held equipment?

Job Title: Technical Cleaning Operative 
Location: Central
 London
Reporting To: Soft Services Manager
Working Hours: Core hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM. Flexibility is required in line with business needs, including occasional weekends or adjusted hours (planned in advance and compliant with Working Time Regulations).
Role Purpose: To deliver high-quality cleaning and technical support across the building, with a focus on both reactive and planned cleaning tasks during peak usage hours. The role ensures strong on-site presence, improved response times, and enhanced quality control through supervised evening working.

Key Responsibilities: General Cleaning & Maintenance:

  • Maintain high cleaning standards across all assigned areas
  • Carry out reactive cleaning tasks (e.g. spills, washroom issues, and communal area upkeep)
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures

Technical & Deep Cleaning Tasks:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and deep cleaning activities
  • Focus on detailed cleaning during quieter periods (8:00 PM – 12:00 AM)
  • Support continuous improvement of overall site cleanliness and hygiene standards

 Key Areas of Focus:
·       Communal spaces & meeting rooms: Periodic deep cleaning of shared areas, including the auditorium and upper-floor meeting rooms. This includes internal glass and partition cleaning, use of professional carpet cleaning machines for deep carpet cleaning, and daily spot cleaning to maintain presentation standards.
·       Office floors & access areas: Regular maintenance cleaning, including carpet care (spot cleaning and scheduled deep cleans), internal glass partition cleaning, and periodic window/glass washing to ensure a consistently high standard throughout.
·       Lobby floors & glass fixtures: Maintain presentation standards through discreet, regular cleaning and polishing of floors and glass surfaces, using professional floor scrubbing and polishing machines.
·       Washrooms & shower facilities: Deep cleaning, including scrubbing and polishing, ensuring hygiene standards are consistently maintained.
·       Fire staircases: Require consistent, thorough cleaning, including detailed dusting, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety are maintained.
·       Back-of-house areas: Ensure regular and thorough cleaning of all back-of-house spaces, including offices, storage cupboards, and associated support facilities, maintaining high standards at all times.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:
·       Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures
·       Ensure safe working practices, particularly within occupied buildings
·       Carry out duties in a way that minimises disruption to occupants
·       Ensure all cleaning chemicals are used, handled, and stored in line with COSHH regulations and company policies
·       Read and follow COSHH assessments and safety data sheets (SDS) for all substances before use
·       Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times when handling chemicals (e.g. gloves, goggles, aprons)

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in cleaning or facilities support is required
  • Experience using professional cleaning machinery and handling cleaning chemicals safely is required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable, flexible, and professional approach to work
