Shift Engineer – Luxury Residential Apartments (Building Services / Facilities)

📍 London 🕒 Shift Pattern (Days & Nights) Full-Time | Permanent 💰 £47,500 + Benefits + Training + Career Development

Overview An exciting opportunity for an experienced Shift Engineer / Facilities Engineer / Building Services Engineer to join a prestigious luxury residential development in London.

This role offers the chance to work within an ultra-high-end, 5-star environment, maintaining state-of-the-art building systems while delivering an exceptional service to residents.

The Role As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all building services systems across a luxury residential site.

You will work across:

• Electrical distribution systems
• Boilers, pumps, and pipework
• Chillers and HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs, ventilation)
• BMS (Building Management Systems)
• General M&E and building infrastructure

This is a client-facing, service-driven role where attention to detail and professionalism are key.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Plant Operations

• Maintain and operate mechanical and electrical plant safely and efficiently
• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across all building systems
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and site procedures
• Maintain accurate records within building logbooks and CAFM systems
• Support audits and ensure all certification is up to date

BMS & Systems Monitoring

• Monitor and respond to BMS alarms and system faults
• Adjust system settings and schedules to optimise performance

Customer Service & Communication

• Deliver a high level of customer service to residents and stakeholders
• Respond promptly to helpdesk requests (via Building Link / CAFM systems)
• Provide clear updates on work progress and completion

Emergency Response

• Respond to incidents and alarms in line with site procedures
• Support fire alarm, sprinkler, and emergency systems operation
• Liaise with emergency services where required

Requirements Essential

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a building services or facilities engineering role
• Electrical or Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems and plant equipment
• Experience with BMS and CAFM systems
• Proven fault-finding and maintenance experience

Desirable

• Experience in luxury residential / 5-star / high-end environments
• Strong customer-facing experience
• Multi-skilled across electrical and mechanical disciplines
