An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading facilities maintenance provider at a prestigious commercial site near London Bridge Station. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a well-established on-site engineering team, ensuring the reliable operation of all mechanical systems across a dynamic corporate environment.

As a Mechanical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical and building services systems. Working within a fast-paced, client-facing environment, you’ll ensure all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily PPM and reactive maintenance on all mechanical plant and equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify faults across HVAC systems, pumps, valves, and other building services.
- Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records, logbooks, and RAMS documentation.
- Support the delivery of a high standard of service to clients and attend regular site meetings.
- Undertake maintenance and repair on:
- Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems
- Pumps, motors, pressurisation units, and expansion vessels
- Chillers, boilers, and heat exchangers
- Hot and cold water systems, plumbing, and drainage
- Assist with BMS monitoring, trend analysis, and fault diagnosis.
- Conduct minor fabric and basic electrical support tasks as required.
- Respond to emergency callouts and ensure issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
Candidate Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
- Experience with commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical plant maintenance.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a commercial building services environment.
- Sound knowledge of building systems and relevant compliance standards.
- Strong communication and client interaction skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a 24/7 shift engineering team.
