Our client are a well established M&E services organisation, who operate within a range of sectors including construction, rail, IT and facilities management across the UK. They currently seek a Technical Services / Engineering Manager to work across a high profile account, consisting of HQ building and satellite corporate offices for one of the largest tech companies on the planet. This role will oversee delivery of planned and reactive services to electrical, mechanical and general building services duties, managing a team of static and mobile engineers, liasing with both client facilities team as well as 3rd party M&E contractors. Guideline salary for the role is circa £65k and includes a car allowance as well as standard benefits including pension, healthcare, etc.
Candidates must be qualified in an engineering discipline (mechanical or electrical), ideally through a full apprenticeship, with at least five years experience managing M&E delivery within a commercial built environment. This should preferably be a similar corporate / commercial HQ or similar, with a demonstrable history of managing high expectations with quick turnaround on both engineering and fabric / front of house issues. Additional training such as HV / LV authorisation, IOSH, NEBOSH, etc is also desirable.
Day to day duties will include:
- Lead and manage the delivery of all technical services, systems, and infrastructure on-site.
- Ensure full compliance with all current and emerging legislation — including Building Regulations, CDM, Health & Safety, and environmental standards.
- Provide hands-on technical assistance and guidance to the engineering team when required.
- Building a trusted partnership with the client, focusing on service quality and continuous improvement.
- Coach, mentor, and develop your team to ensure a culture of high performance and accountability.
- Identify and implement opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and enhanced service delivery.
In terms of character and experience:
- Strong technical and managerial experience within facilities services, ideally in a customer-focused, high-profile environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading hard FM contracts and engineering teams.
- A solutions-driven mindset with excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Confident leadership with the ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams.
- Commercial awareness and analytical capability to support sound decision-making and service optimisation.
